Holiday Open House at Van Wyck Homestead Museum

The Van Wyck Homestead Museum (Route 9 and I 84 at Snook Rd., Fishkill) will hold its annual open house on Thursday December 28, 6:30 - 9:30pm.

There will be a reading of Henry Livingston’s “Night Before Christmas” at 7pm in the Military Room of the homestead, which was the headquarters room of the Fishkill Supply Depot (1776-1783). The reading will be done by the talented Miss Claudia, who has read this poem for the past several years at this site.

Other activities are geared towards children: the making of sheep ornaments and the Hannukah story with the dreidel game. No materials are necessary and the activities and entrance to the museum are free!

There are complimentary refreshments in the 1732 kitchen before the fireplace. It should be a peaceful and interesting evening during the Christmas week. For more information, call 896-9560.
