Moody's Downgrades County's Debt Rating
Rating Falls from Aa2 to Aa3
Last month Moody's Investor Service assigned a rating of Aa3 to $16.2 million in Public Improvement Bonds, 2007 issued by Putnam County, at the same time downgrading the County's general obligation rating to Aa3 from Aa2, affecting $43.5 million in previously issued debt. Full Story

Officer Burris and his K9 Partner Place 2nd in USPCA Regional Trials
Team to be flown to MN this spring for national competition
The Village of Cold Spring Police K-9 Officer Darrell Burris and his K9 partner Duncan, placed 2nd in the United States Police Canine Association's "USPCA" regional trials. Burris and Duncan beat out 16 out of 17 teams from New York and Connecticut in the Region 7 Narcotics Detector Trials at the Orange County Sheriff's K-9 Academy in Montgomery. Full Story
Cold Spring VFW Post 2362 Celebrates 75th Anniversary
Gary Kurpius, national commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, has announced the presentation of a Diamond Jubilee Award citation to VFW Post 2362 in Cold Spring.
