False Alarms, Small Fires bring out Emergency Personnel on Quiet Week
While the local volunteer emergency organizations stand ready to assist in times of trouble, they happily reported a "slow" period this past week. On April 21, 2007 the North Highlands Fire Department was dispatched to the Stone Crop Gardens off Route 301 for a commercial fire alarm. The Cold Spring Comprehensive Plan Special Board voted April 27, 2007 to launch a village-wide public survey - one of several tools it intends to use to obtain residents' input.
