NAMI of Putnam County is holding a meeting on January 17, 2007, between the hours of 7 and 9pm at the Mahopac Library. The guest speaker will be Diane Russo, Associate Executive Director Putnam Family Community Services, the largest Mental Health Provider in Putnam County.

NAMI stands for the National Alliance on Mental Illness. It is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of persons living with serious mental illness and their families. Founded in 1979, NAMI has become the nation's voice on mental illness, a national organization including NAMI organizations in every state and in over 1100 local communities across the county who join together to meet the NAMI mission through advocacy, research, support, and education.

NAMI is dedicated to the eradication of mental illness and to the improvement of the quality of life of all whose lives are affected by these diseases.

Please join them....they welcome questions. They need your voice to work effectively for improved treatments and more research into mental illness and a better quality of life for those who have brain disorders.
