Leonard Lombardo

Leonard A. Lombardo, age 88, of Cold Spring died on Tuesday January 2, 2007 at the Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt Manor, NY.

Born in Newburgh, NY on December 14, 1918, he was the son of the late Francesco and Nancy (DeCerbo) Lombardo.

Mr. Lombardo was a retired Truck Driver for the Town of Philipstown; he had come to Garrison in 1947 and moved to Port Jervis in 1983, only to return to Cold Spring in 2003. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during WW II and a life member of the George A Casey Post #275 of the American Legion in Cold Spring.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lillian (Mann) Lombardo, they were married on July 26, 1937 in Circleville, NY, four sons, John Lombardo of Fishkill, NY, Louis Lombardo of Garrison, NY, Frank Lombardo of Cold Spring, NY and Vincent Lombardo of Beacon, NY, two sisters, Marie Mitteer and Katherine Johnson both of Middletown, NY. Seventeen grandchildren and 28 greatgrandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the Clinton Funeral Home, Cold Spring, interment followed in Cold Spring Cemetery.
