Haldane's Senior Wrestlers Place At Ketcham Tournament

On December 6, seven Haldane Wrestlers and Coach Garth Merandy made the short trip to Ketcham High School for the 2007 Ketchum Invitational Wrestling Tournament. Tournament.
Participants included Sections 1 and 9 Large School Division as follows: Ketcham, Ossining, Kingston, Washingtonville, Highland, Middletown, Goshen, Millbrook, Ellenville and New Paltz, with some school teams having program rosters as huge as 45 wrestlers.
After fifteen hours in the Ketcham Gym, and wrestling to New York State's daily maximum allowable limits, all three Haldane Seniors were standing on the podium receiving awards as follows: Senior Adam Beard (135 lbs) Second Place; Senior Christos Zouzias (170 lbs) Third Place; and Senior Collin LeMon (215 lbs) First Place.
Other members of the Wrestling Team, Junior Ethan Lakota (189 lbs), Junior Jamie Kainard (130 lbs), Freshman DJ Susi (96 lbs), and Freshman John McGuire (189 lbs) all wrestled into the Consolation Semi-Finals.
At a Dual Home Match at Haldane against Croton on December 10th, in front of a packed auditorium of classmates, five of Haldane's six wrestlers won by fall, pinning their opponents in the first or second periods.
