Hudson Valley Hospital Employee/Community Blood Drive Collects 60 Pints

Marianne Decker of Peekskill happily donates the gift of life as a phlebotomist from Hudson Valley Blood Services gets ready to take blood
In conjunction with Hudson Valley Blood Services, Hudson Valley Hospital Center held a employee/community blood drive recently in the Wagner Conference Center. Sixty pints of blood, otherwise known as "gifts of life," were donated by employees of the hospital and members of the community. "There is always a need for blood donations, and we are so grateful to everyone for their participation and willingness to donate," states Deidre Gruber, administrative director of laboratory services at HVHC.

The next major blood drive at the hospital will be Thursday, April 19 from 10am to 9pm, also in the Wagner Conference Center. No appointment necessary. Hudson Valley Hospital Center also provides blood donation services every Wednesday from 9am to 2:30pm. For more information, call Hudson Valley Blood Services at 1-800-933-2566.
