Frank J. Terlizzi

Frank J. Terlizzi, age 85, of Cold Spring entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 26 with his family by his side after a long illness.

Born March 19, 1921 in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Ciatti) Terlizzi. A retired Firefighter for the City of Yonkers Engine #4, retiring after 32 years, he also worked as a butcher at the A&P in Yonkers. He served in the USMC during WWII where he was awarded a Purple Heart after being wounded in the Battle of Tarawa.

Mr. Terlizzi was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Mary (Marzella) Terlizzi, in March 2001. He is survived by daughters Mary Minners (Rick Flores) of Theills NY and Jean Martinec (Kenneth) of Scotia NY, his son, Michael Terlizzi (Maryjean) of Highland Mills, son-in-law Whitey Williams of Cold Spring, a brother Mike Terlizzi of Long Island, sister, Constance Duncan of Cold Spring, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. One daughter, Peggy Williams, and sisters Anne, Rose, Lucy, and brother Angelo predeceased him.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, January 30 at Our Lady of Loretto Church, Cold Spring, followed by entombment at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to the American Cancer Society in memory of his daughter, Peggy Williams.
