Western Putnam Economic Development Council to Hold Second Annual Facilitated Planning Meeting
Public invited to breakfast to discuss future marketing for Main Street, Cold Spring
Approximately a year ago, after a facilitated meeting, the Western Putnam Economic Development Council (WPEDC) was created to address the needs of this area. This group has been meeting almost every Friday since. The resulting efforts have included the creation of a branding concept for the area and a role in helping to spearhead the Waterfront Revitalization project. There are now have specific goals to go forward. Therefore, a oneyear reunion will be held, to discuss the goals for the future and to get everyone motivated for the upcoming winter and summer months.
The public is invited to come to the Depot Restaurant in Cold Spring on Thursday morning, February 8, 2007, where the WPEDC will layout their future plans. The group has engaged Skip Weisman, a motivational speaker and marketing guru to keep the meeting moving and to add his years of experience in the marketing field to the discussions..
The Depot Restaurant will be making a free breakfast (omelets, rolls, bagels, coffee, etc.) to get everything going and a detailed power-point presentation will be presented by WPEDC.
The agenda for the meeting will be:
8:00-8:30: buffet breakfast served (no breakfast will be served after 8:30). 8:30-9: Recap of what the various committees have been working on this year and proposals for the upcoming year with the organization of new committees. 9- 10: Speaker Skip Weisman will conduct another facilitated discussion about the ideas presented. He will intersperse his knowledge about what has worked during his years of experience.
The goal for this discussion is to brainstorm positive planning ideas for the future of businesses on Main Street and not to have it be a forum for complaints. Please RSVP (so that a count can be made for breakfast) to Tom Rolston at 265-3939 and leave a message.
