Anthony Merante Seeks Re- Election as Village of Nelsonville Trustee
Anthony Merante has announced that he is seeking re-election as a trustee for the Nelsonville Village Board. His announcement is as follows -
"A lifelong resident of the Nelsonville-Cold Spring villages, he is hopeful that his work on behalf of Congressional and State Assembly representatives translates into assistance for the infrastructure needs of the Village, especially street reconstruction and drainage work.
"In light of the fact that taxes are increasing everywhere else, he is proud of the fact that Village taxes have been kept to only one per cent in the past year. However, the needs of the Village have been taken into account, such as a great deal of tree removal this year. He has made it his priority to meet as many of the new residents of the Village as possible and to respond to their concerns in a timely manner.
"Ande is a retired Metro-North electrician, former Philipstown Councilman and current Chairman of the Philipstown Planning Board. He is currently completing his first term as Village Trustee.
"He lives on Pine Street with Hiroko, his wife of 37 years."
