Easter Holiday Cooking Class Offered at Capuchin Youth & Family Ministries

Get a jump on planning this year's Easter feast for your family! Join in as Ann Wright, Chef at Capuchin Youth & Family Ministries (CYFM), leads participants through the step-by-step process of preparing an easy, yet elegant fourcourse Easter banquet during this three-hour program. The Easter Holiday Cooking Class will be held at CYFM headquarters on Route 9D in Garrison, on Monday, March 5 and is repeated on Thursday, March 8. Both sessions are held from 5:30-8:30pm in CYFM's St. Francis Retreat Center building.

Chef Ann shares her cooking tips and hints as the class fully participates in the preparation of the meal which consists of: an appetizer of savory baked ricotta cheese pie; a first course of carrot, potato and leek soup; a main course of rack of lamb (on Monday, March 5) and glazed baked ham (on Thursday, March 8) with roasted sweet potatoes coupled with fresh asparagus, artichoke, and baby bean salads; topped off with a coconut cream tart for dessert. The class culminates in grand style with all the participants feasting on the sumptuous meal prepared by all.

"This is a full participation class and is the first of what I hope will be a series of cooking classes at CYFM," says Chef Ann, who holds degrees in Hotel and Restaurant Management as well as in Nutrition. For six years, Chef Ann taught a number of cooking classes at the prestigious New York Restaurant School. She is also a former chef at the renowned SoHo Charcuterie Restaurant in NYC. She is presently happy and proud to be cooking at CYFM.

The cost for the three-hour class, which includes the sitdown dinner, is $35 per person. Please note that class size is limited and the registration deadline is Monday, February 26. Also, note that the main entrée is different each evening - rack of lamb on Monday, March 5; and glazed baked ham on Thursday, March 8.

To register, please call Capuchin Youth & Family Ministries at 424-3609, or email judi@cyfm.org by Monday, February 26th.
