BOCES Students Cook for Peekskill Soup Kitchen

Mark Holst (Brewster, left), a Tech Center Honor Society member in the TV Production class, chops onions with Culinary student Ryan Murman, also from Brewster.
Culinary students at Putnam/ Northern Westchester BOCES recently joined with Honor Society students from a dozen other BOCES' Career Academies to feed the hungry. Students participating in the joint community service project formed meatballs, cooked pasta, chopped salad ingredients, and more to prepare meals for 80 patrons of the Main Street soup kitchen in Peekskill.

The community service project was a collaboration between BOCES' Culinary teacher Chef Stanley Rupinksi and Honor Society advisor and BOCES' Guidance Counselor Gary Mancus.
