A Farewell, with Gratitude, to Philipstown Rec Dear Editor:
Its been nearly five years since I joined MaryLou Caccetta, Karen Virgadamo and Don Abel in the two small offices assigned to the Recreation Department on the second floor of Town Hall. During these years, we moved to the old Capuchin property and created a community center, implemented many new programs, and looked at ways to make the existing programs even stronger. However, none of this would have been possible without the continual support and great efforts of members of the community - the program directors and volunteer coaches who make the programs run, and the children and adults who participate.
Throughout my tenure, I have deeply appreciated getting to know so many wonderful people and the privilege of collaborating with a great many of Philipstown's impressive organizations and businesses. And so it is with gratitude and respect that I write this letter of resignation, effective March 2nd, and leave my position as Director of Recreation and Parks. I encourage you to stop by your community center to put in suggestions for new programs, and to thank the building and grounds and programming staff for all of their hard work. It has been an honor to work with them.
Wishing the Philipstown community much fun and success in future recreation programming, with warmest regards,
Suzanne M. Timmer
