Dutchess Community College Alumni Association Offers Second Generation Scholarship
The Dutchess Community College Foundation and the DCC Alumni Association are seeking applicants for the Second Generation Scholarship, which provides one award each year for a semester of tuition (not including books, fees or other costs). The application deadline is Friday, March 30, 2007, and the recipient will be recognized at the Alumni Hall of Fame Dinner on Friday, April 27 at the Culinary Institute of America in the St. Andrew's Café.
The scholarship is available to a first-time, full-time student planning to enroll at DCC and whose parent, guardian, grandparent, child or grandchild is a DCC Alum. The qualified student may be a graduating high school senior or current DCC student, must demonstrate academic achievement, and must register for 12 or more credits for the fall 2007 semester. The form includes room for a required one-page essay on why the applicant wants to attend Dutchess. This form can be emailed back to DCC Foundation Director Patricia Prunty at Prunty@sunydutchess.edu, but it must be followed up with a hard copy mailed, faxed or delivered to the DCC Foundation Office that includes the student's current grade report from DCC or their high school.
