Lecture on American Cancer Society Patient Navigation and Call Back Initiatives Scheduled
The Dutchess County Unit of the American Cancer Society and the Man to Man Prostate Cancer Education & Information Support Program announces a regularly scheduled meeting, held March 1, at 6:30pm in the Central Hudson Auditorium, Poughkeepsie. The guest speaker will be Amy Wen, Director of Patient & Family Services, American Cancer Society, Eastern Division, Region 7.
Ms. Wen will present information regarding the ACS Patient Navigation and the Call Back initiatives. Patient Navigation provides useful information to cancer patients and their family members to assist in the decision-making process. It also helps guide patients through the complex health care system and provide them with much needed community resources. This will be a regular meeting and is also open to the general public, physicians and health care professionals. The Side by Side sister group meets separately (they will join together as the speaker begins) and is open to wives and significant others.
