Hudson Valley Agricultural Partnership to Hold Biennial Conference
The Hudson Valley Agricultural Partnership (www.hvap.org), a diverse network of farmers, consumers, organizations, businesses and community leaders working to strengthen agriculture and protect farmland in New York's Hudson Valley, announced that its 3rd Biennial Conference will be held at the Columbia-Greene Community College in Hudson, NY on March 16, 2007. Registration begins at 8:30 in the morning. The conference is open to the public.
The title and subject of the 2007 Conference is "Success Stories in Our Backyard" and will feature presentations by those who have forged paths of progress in the areas of Farm Profitability, Farmland Protection, and Agricultural Economic Development. Presentation topics will range from growing grapes in the Hudson Valley to new farmer development to local food marketing initiatives.
The keynote speakers for the conference will be Patrick Hooker, Commissioner of the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets; and Dan Barber, Creative Director of Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture and Head Chef of Blue Hill and Blue Hill at Stone Barns, restaurants committed to featuring the food of the Hudson Valley.
