Tilly Foster Community Garden Workshop Sponsored by Cornell Coop. Extension
Families who have garden plots at the Putnam County Community Garden at Tilly Foster Farm are invited to a workshop sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension, on Saturday, April 14, from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
Horticulture educators and Master Gardener volunteers will offer workshops on How to Make a Better Planting Bed; Soil Amendments; How to Start Seeds and Buy Healthy Seedlings; Organic Weed, Disease and Insect Control; How to Attract Pollinators; and Organic Fertilizing. Classes will be held in the main barn at the farm and demonstrations will be held in the Community Garden if the soil is workable.
Refreshments will be served and attendees will receive an extensive packet of information and fact sheets that will help with this year's gardening season. While these classes are designed primarily for Community Garden plot holders, everyone is welcome. Registration is $5 per family.
