Putnam Sheriff's Cadets Host Breakfast at Graymoor
A fundraising breakfast in support of the Putnam County Sheriff's Cadet Program will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2007 from 8 to 11am in the Friars dining hall at Graymoor in Garrison. Suggested donations for adults are $10 per person and for children 5 through 12 years of age, $5. Children under 5 are invited to dine for free.
This fundraiser helps provide uniforms and equipment for the cadets and also helps fund their attendance at a special summer training camp which is held in New London, Connecticut each summer.
Putnam County Sheriff Don Smith noted that this program has already served several generations of young people in Putnam County and teaches skills, values, including integrity and duty, and provides many of the cadets with invaluable leadership opportunities. Sheriff Smith said, "There are many outstanding members of law enforcement, the medical profession, and the legal profession who gained their motivation, focus and leadership skills right here in the Putnam County Sheriffs Cadet Program. We truly appreciate the support we receive from the public and we especially appreciate the leadership and dedication provided by our deputy sheriffs who make this program a great success year after year."
