Sandy Galef Hasn't Reformed Anything
Dear Editor,

Recently the Journal News blog, "Politics on the Hudson", reported that Assemblywoman Sandra Galef was being honored for being a leading reformer in Albany. It noted that she has "pushed" bills which would reform school funding & labor laws. In parentheses, however, it was noted that none of these bills have ever passed.

In the same story, it notes that Galef is now in her eighth term. My question is this - how can someone be a "reformer", who has been "pushing" reform bills for over 16 years, and not one of these bills has ever passed the NYS Assembly?

Has any enterprising newspaper reporter ever thought to ask Ms. Galef why her "reform" bills haven't passed? And if the reason is because Speaker Sheldon Silver won't let them pass, shouldn't a true "reformer" like Ms. Galef have the courage to publicly call on Sheldon Silver to let these bills come up for a vote?

Ms. Galef - you can fool some of the people some of the time. However, I think your years of fooling people into thinking you are a "reformer" are quickly coming to an end.
