Dutchess Woman had Suspended Registration
Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the March 9, 2007 arrest of a Town of Beacon resident after she was found to have a suspended vehicle registration.
At about 12:05pm on March 9th, Deputy Sheriff Thomas Corless was on patrol along Route 403 in the Town of Philipstown when he initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle that did not have adequate brake lights and a driver's side door mirror. During the stop, Deputy Corless learned the registration of the vehicle, operated by Pasha Kelly, 23, of Beacon, was suspended.
Deputy Corless charged Ms. Kelly with Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Registration, a misdemeanor punishable by up to thirty days in jail, a fine of up to $500, and further sanctions against the offender's driving privileges. Deputy Corless also issued the defendant traffic summonses for inadequate brake lights and lacking a side-view mirror, which are each punishable by courtdetermined fines. Ms. Kelly is scheduled to appear in the Town of Philipstown Justice Court on April 2, 2007.
