Busy Beavers Make Themselves a Home at Stony Kill Farm

A tree at Stony Kill which beavers have chewed down
Come see what the busy beavers have done at Stony Kill Farm Environmental Education Center. At 2pm on Saturday, April 7, families and individuals are invited to join environmental educator Chris O'Sullivan for a hike to the Sierra Trail ponds, where beavers have radically altered the habitat to their liking. They will learn about the role of beavers in the ecology and history of New York State. Meet Chris at the Sierra trail parking lot off of Red School House Rd. Please wear waterproof footwear or something you don't mind getting wet and muddy.

For more information about the Busy Beavers program at Stony Kill Farm, call 845-831- 8780, ext. 304. Stony Kill Farm Environmental Education Center is owned and operated by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, and is located in Wappingers Falls, on state route 9D, about 2 miles north of the Beacon-Newburgh bridge (I-84).
