VA CARES Panel to Hold Public Hearings
On Tuesday, April 17, 2007, the Local Advisory Panel (LAP) of the CARES Project will hold a public hearing at the Montrose campus of the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System located on Route 9A, Montrose, NY. The Public Hearing will be held in the Social Hall, Building 15, Room 7. The seating capacity is 100 people. It will commence at 4pm and adjourn at 7pm.
The purpose of the LAP meeting is for the VA CARES contractor to present the business plan options for the Montrose and Castle Point campuses recommended to VA for further study and those selected by VA. The LAP and the community will provide recommendations regarding issues to be addressed in the Stage 2 study by the contractor. In addition, the contractor will describe the study process and project overview
Individuals and representatives of organizations who would like to offer comments and suggestions related to the Secretary's decision for the Montrose/ Castle Point campuses are invited to request a place on the agenda for the April 17th meeting. Speaking times will be assigned on a first comefirst served basis. No more than 5 minutes per speaker will be allocated. The Chair of the LAP reserves the right to adjust time allocations. Questions from the public will not be considered during this period.
All speakers must submit their requests to Nancy Winter. The request must be received by April 11, 2007. The request must include the speaker's name, address, phone number, and if they are speaking on behalf of an organization or as an individual. All statements must be in writing (hard copy) to ensure that all comments will become part of the official records of the LAP.
Speakers will be advised of their placement on the public comment session of the agenda as soon as possible after close of requests to speak at the meeting.
