Cold Spring Emerges as a New Center for Fashion and Home Design Week
Cold Spring celebrates with a week-long Fashion and Home Design Week April 23-29. Several award-winning restaurants will host Fashion Shows during their lunch and dinner service. Keeping a casual spirit for the Spring event, fashionoriented businesses bring their creative appeal to the relaxing atmosphere of the Hudson Highlands.
"This is really the time to get to know Cold Spring. In years past, we were renowned as the Hudson Valley's antique center," remarked Marilyn Heberling of Art-To-Wear. "Now we're becoming known as the place to come for unique clothing and accessories.
Visit the riverside community April 28th and 29th where the sidewalks will be overflowing with unique items for the home and wardrobe. Kacey of WHUD 100.7 FM will be the special celebrity commentator for Saturday's fashion show.
Rain or shine the weekend also brings out the tents for an outdoor home show. The home show featuring design-oriented vendors, including interior designers, architects, landscape architects, cabinetmakers, builders and realtors, will exhibit their products and services along Main Street. Throughout the week's event, realtors will host open houses.
"The 21st century is opening new vistas for our historic village," said Timothy Chevtaikin of Archipelago At Home. "We're celebrating all the fashion and home accessory shops that are opening on Main Street by throwing a week-long party. As part of the party we'll be raffling off a kayak and other valuable prizes from Cold Spring Merchants."
The Fashion and Home Design Week is presented by the Western Putnam Economic Development Council (WPEDC).
