Local Science Projects to be Featured at Tri-County Science Technology Fair
The Putnam Children's Discovery Center is once again organizing first place science project winners from Putnam, Rockland & Westchester schools for a regional competition to be held at the Tri- County Science Technology Fair on April 21 at the Kennedy Catholic High School, Somers. Admission is free and public viewing is from 1-2:30pm.
The Fair is done with cooperation from the Science Teachers Association of NYS (Westchester Section), the Westchester Putnam Technology Educators Association and the Hudson Valley Council of Technical Societies. Nine of the best high school research projects will be invited to attend the Science Congress, this additional competition will be under the supervision of Judith Swanson (STANYS Westchester) and will determine who will go on to the NYS Science Congress. The Discovery Center has a responsibility to give the competing students the very best judges to evaluate their exhibits. Professional scientists, retired teachers, and college students with a science or teaching major are invited to judge. Biology; Chemistry; Mathematics/ Computers; Engineering/ Technology; Environment; Earth/Space Science; Physics and Psychology.
