Putnam Valley Youths Arrested for Harassing Classmate
Two Town of Putnam Valley youths have been arrested for harassing another classmate and allegedly taking the young man's iPod, Putnam County Sheriff Don Smith reports.
The arrests of the two 14- year-old defendants were the result of an investigation by Sheriff's Investigator Thomas Velotti, after the victim's family contacted the Sheriff's Office to report the harassment. This investigation revealed the defendants left messages on the victim's MySpace page, threatening him with bodily harm. In addition, the defendants allegedly stole money and an iPod from the victim.
As a result, the defendants, whose identities are being withheld, were arrested and charged with Aggravated Harassment and Petit Larceny. They were processed and released to the custody of their parents, pending hearings at the Putnam County Department of Probation.
