Talk of the town

Play Ball!! While the major leagues had their day in the spotlight last weekend, our local stars will be shining this Saturday with the Little League opening day events. PV will hold their traditional parade and festivities starting at noon at the town park on Oscawana Lake Rd. Philipstown will turn out most of the adults (it seems) and kids on Saturday at the Little League field on Rt. 9D across from Haldane. Its always a spectacular day, the only question that remains is will they need a domed stadium to protect them from the weather?

Spring is gearing up and once the weather cooperates, there will be plenty to do outdoors. This weekend you can help clean up Old Albany Post Rd (10am, crnr of Travis and OAP) or hear how to preserve thw watershed and lakes (PV Town Hall, 10am).

Cold Spring's Mayor, Anthony Phillips, celebrates his birthday on the 18th - be sure to give him a tip of the hat when you see him that day. Also on our Lions Club calendar list of birthdays this week are Matt Faherty, Michael Moran, Frank Brentkowski, Debbie Russo, Paul Confini, Lindsay Nastasi, Christian Mayo, Donna DeChristopher, Michael O'Connor, Katherine Clarks, Grace Conley, Kylie Falloon and Billy Roach.
