Storm Causes County to Declare State of Emergency
County Executive Robert Bondi on Monday declared a State of Emergency in Putnam County as a result of the rain storm that struck the area Sunday through Monday.
With well over 6 inches of rain reported in some areas and numerous reports of flooding, road closures and damage to dams and bridges, the State of Emergency will continue throughout the week as flooding subsides and further damage is potentially discovered.
The Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services continues to monitor the storm and is working with all the County Towns and Villages; as well as Local and State Agencies throughout the Region to recovery from this latest weather event.
