Obituary
William Henry Garrison

William Henry "Bud" Garrison, formerly of Cold Spring, NY, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Cortlandt Healthcare Center, Cortlandt Manor, NY, at the age of 74.

Born in Cold Spring on August 1, 1932, he was the son of Harold B. and Mary Austin Garrison. He is survived by a sister, Mary Garrison Troskowsky of Yonkers, NY, and nephews Peter B. Knapp and his wife Mary Jo, who was Bud's loyal friend and caregiver, of Fishkill, NY; Thomas J. Knapp and his wife Deidre, of Cold Spring, NY, and Anthony Troskowsky of Yonkers, NY. He is also survived by one great nephew, three great nieces, and one great grand niece.

Bud was predeceased by a sister, Jane "Peg" Knapp and her husband Douglas G. Knapp of Nelsonville and a brother, Milton Garrison and his wife Helen of Garrison, NY. He was also predeceased by two nephews, Douglas R. Knapp and Milton "Sparky" Garrison.

Bud is also survived by his extended family of all the employees, past and present, of Cortlandt Healthcare Center, where he resided for the past 32 years.

Having suffered Cerebral Palsy since birth, Bud was educated by his parents, sisters, and brother and turned out to be a very smart person. He was known for his paintings and love of bird watching. Bud was very proud to have one of his paintings hung in Hamilton Fish's office and he was also proud to be a friend of Jim Witt of WHUD. Bud will be greatly missed by all the people who knew him.

A memorial service for Bud will be held at Cortlandt Healthcare at a later date, to be announced.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Clinton Funeral Home, Cold Spring.
