| The Garrison School is very proud of all of the 8th graders who are preparing for graduation this June. One particular student has something to be very excited about. During the winter months, Mary Gilmore began studying her options for High School choice. As she began the process, she was amazed to find that the Storm King School offered a M.A.D. about the Arts Scholarship Competition.
After speaking with her art teacher, Ms Forest and her guidance counselor, Coleen Cavanagh, she began the process of collecting 10 pieces of her original work. The three worked really hard to gather all the information and art work, fill out applications and complete the lengthly process.
They are happy to announce that Mary Gilmore not only won the competition but was also awarded a complete scholarship to attend Storm King throughout her High School career.. She came in first place and will study the visual arts during her high school years. When Mary received the notification, she was ecstatic and her teachers were absolutely thrilled. We wish her all the best as she travels to new places as she receives an education that will help her foster her incredible talents
