Kidney Disease Focus of Putnam Hospital Center's Diabetes Support Group
The next meeting of Putnam Hospital Center's free Diabetes Support & Education Group will be held on Tuesday, May 15th, at 6pm, in the ground floor café classrooms at the hospital, located at 670 Stoneleigh Avenue in Carmel.
More than 20 million Americans (1 in 9 adults) have kidney disease. "What You Need to Know About Kidney Disease" will be presented by PHC nephrologists Sara Perinbasekar, MD, who will discuss risk, prevention and treatment of chronic kidney disease. Family and friends are welcome to attend meetings of the free Diabetes Support & Education Group, which is designed to teach individuals how to keep their diabetes under control and to live a healthier life. The meetings provide participants with an opportunity to hear from knowledgeable professionals and to network with others who have diabetes.
