Vera V. Harman
Vera V. Harman, age 80 of Nelsonville, died on Monday May 1, 2007 at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
Born in Cold Spring, on May 11, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Richard C. and Katherine V. (Scullion) Harman. Vera was a life long Cold Spring area resident, a communicant of Our Lady of Loretto parish and retired from Verizon Corp. after a varied career in management.
She was a great friend of many and known for her common sense outlook and keen sense of humor. She enjoyed traveling domestically and internationally with an emphasis on historic locations.
Survivors include her husband Cornelius J. Tuomey of the home address. Beloved and loving Aunt of Susan (McClelland) Ferrier and several nieces and nephews and their children. She was pre deceased by her brother Richard B. and his wife Eileen (Mc Clelland) Harman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday May 5, 2007 at Our Lady of Loretto Church 24 Fair St. Cold Spring, at 10am. Interment will follow in the family plot in Cold Spring Cemetery. Family and friend are invited to call at the Clinton Funeral Home Cor. of Parrott and Pine streets Cold Spring on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clinton Funeral Home Cold Spring. Donations may be made to the Philipstown Food Pantry.
