Nature Conservancy Announces Hike Schedule

The Eastern New York Chapter of The Nature Conservancy is pleased to offer the public the chance to explore some of the region's hidden ecological gems.

Beginning in mid-May and running through October, the Conservancy is hosting a series of hikes and paddles throughout the preserves and natural areas of southeastern New York. Explore the Great Swamp, learn about carnivorous plants at Emmons Pond Bog, search for mushrooms at Thompson Pond and more. A hike schedule (in both paper and electronic versions) with dates and descriptions is available by calling 914-244-3271 ext. 27 or emailing

spicketta@tnc.org.

These hikes are open to the public free of charge, but preregistration is required.
