| Scout Master John Kinnaird of Boy Scout Troop 437 of Cold Spring proud announces two new Eagles. Keith M. Ciccaglione and Alex DelVecchio were awarded medals for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. Only two percent of all Boy Scouts become Eagles.
Keith, a Haldane senior bound for Cornell, created a walkway to Bannerman's Castle. He and fellow scouts hauled heavy bags crushed stones up 68 steps to complete the walkway. Neil Caplan, President of Bannerman's Trust, lauded Keith for "his determination and service to a wonderful historic site"
Alex, a Haldane graduate and now a freshman at Hunter College, built an informational kiosk at Little Stony Point. Matt Donachie of the Little Stony Point Citizens Association commended Alex. "Many had tried this before. Alex got through the to the state parks department and the rock to make this sing work."
On hand to present citations to the boys were Assemblywoman Sandy Galef, and Philipstown Supervisor Bill Mazzuca. All agreed, our future bright with high-flying Eagle Scouts, Keith and Alex.
Scoutmaster Kinnaird invites all boys aged 11 to 18 interested in scouting, to contact him at 265-3544.
