Putnam County Office for the Aging to Celebrate Older Americans Month
For the past 44 years, our nation has been honoring Older Americans during the month of May by designating it as Older Americans Month. This year's theme is "Making Choices for a Healthier Future."
In marking the month, the Office will be offering the following special events:
- Mother's Day Celebration to be held at all four Friendship Sites with a special dessert and entertainment. Please call the Office for the Aging @ 225-1034 for more information.
- Bingo-thon at Putnam Nursing & Rehabilitation on Ludingtonville Road in Holmes from 11am to 1pm on May 16.
- New EPIC Updates - Seminar explaining the new changes to EPIC enrollees, effective July 1, 2007 at all four Friendship Centers. Pleas call Lynn Hill, HHCAP Coordinator, @ (845) 225-1034, x.115 for info. The programs will take place on May 21 & 31, 2007.
- Long-Term Care Insurance Seminar at the Mahopac Library, 568 Rt. 6 in Mahopac, NY from 11am to 2:30pm on Tuesday, May 22, 2007.
- Older Americans Month "Health Fair" at the Office for the Aging, 110 Old Rt. 6 in Carmel on Wednesday, May 23 from 10am to 2pm. This Fair will feature departments from Putnam Hospital, such as Nutrition, Physical Therapy & Radiology, Assisted Living facilities and departments within Putnam County. Entertainment & Refreshments will be served!
- Senior Medicare Patrol, formally known as Operation Restore Trust, seminar held at the four Friendship Centers. Please call Lynn Hill, HHCAP Coordinator, at (845) 225-1034, x. 115 for time and information. Seminar to be held May 29 & 30, 2007.
- Decisions Making Day w/ ElderCare Attorney, Edward Schaffer at the Office for the Aging, 110 Old Rt. 6 in Carmel at 11am to learn about paperwork that should always be in order. May 30, 2007.
