Valhalla Man Arrested for DWI in Putnam Valley

On May 4, 2007, at 1:30am, Putnam County Deputy Sheriff Luigi Osso was patrolling in Putnam Valley when he spotted the operator of a 1993 Toyota Corolla lock-up its brakes at the intersection of Oscawana Lake Road and Peekskill Hollow Road. The deputy stopped the car, which was driven by Mr. Nathaniel John Hester, aged 27, of Valhalla, Westchester County. After interviewing Mr. Hester and administering roadside sobriety tests to him, the deputy determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. The deputy arrested him on a DWI charge, booked him, and arraigned him before Putnam Valley Town Justice Louis DiCarlo. The judge remanded Mr. Hester to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail pending further court action.

The DWI charges against the defendant are misdemeanors which, upon conviction, are punishable by up to a year in jail, a $1,000 fine and possible sanctions against the offenders' privileges to drive.
