Franciscan Sisters of The Atonement Graymoor Celebrate Jubilarians
On Saturday, June 16, 2007, the Franciscan Sisters of the Atonement at Graymoor in Garrison, will host a Jubilee Celebration for 8 of their members.
Sister Barbara Bernauer, who recently returned to Graymoor from active ministry in Texas, will be honored as a diamond Jubilarian for her seventy-five years of ministry as a Sister of the Atonement.
Seven women will celebrate 50 years of ministry. They are: Sister Carol Daul, Sacred Heart Parish, Crown Point, NY; Sister Leila Spaulding, Our Lady of the Atonement Retreat House, Garrison; Sister Roberta Southwick, Proctor House Faith Center, Utica, NY; Sister Eilish Sweeney, Senior Coordinator St. Francis Convent, Garrison; Sister Thomas Marie Heavey, Madera CA; Sister Mary Harper, Washington Retreat House, Washington DC; and Sister Maria Albina Paris, who ministers in her native Italy.
The day will begin with a Jubilee Mass at Pilgrim Hall Chapel at Graymoor and will be followed by a reception for family and friends of the Sisters.
