Register now to "Celebrate Life" on National Cancer Survivor's Day

Support Connection Inc., a Yorktown-based not-for-profit organization offering free, confidential support services to people affected by breast and ovarian cancer, will commemorate National Cancer Survivors Day® by hosting "Celebrate Life Day" at Travelers Rest restaurant, Route 100, Ossining, NY on Sunday, June 3, from 11am-2pm.

This is Support Connection's fourth year holding this special event. Cancer survivors, as well as family, friends, and supporters, are invited for an uplifting program, music, and brunch. More than 75 individuals attended last year's Celebrate Life Day. Admission is free for cancer survivors, $25 for their guests. Space is limited and advance registration is recommended.

Support Connection joins with over 700 communities throughout the United States, Canada, and other participating countries that will observe the 20th Annual National Cancer Survivors Day by hosting celebrations of life. Cancer survivors will be honored for their strength and courage, and the contributions of their families, friends and healthcare providers will be recognized. A "survivor" is anyone living with a history of cancer - from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life, according to the National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation, which reports that 10.5 million Americans are cancer survivors.

Founded in 1996, Support Connection's mission is to provide emotional, social and educational support services to women, their families and friends affected by breast and ovarian cancer. The support provided enables women to help each other and empowers them to become their own healthcare advocates. For information about Support Connection, or to register for "Celebrate Life Day," call 914-962-6402.
