Sprinkler Fitters Recruit Apprentices
The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Sprinkler Fitters, Local 669 (Hudson Valley), will conduct recruitment from May 12 through October 20 for five apprentices, State Labor Commissioner M. Patricia Smith announced today.
Applications can be obtained at the U.A. Training Center, 1024 McKinley St., Peekskill, from 8:30am to 10:30am, on the following Saturdays: May 26; June 9 and 23; July 7 and 21; August 4 and 25; September 8 and 22; and October 6 and 20. Completed applications must be mailed to Sprinkler Fitters Local 669, P.O. Box 580, White Plains, NY 10603.
The committee requires that applicants:
+Be at least 18 years old.
+Have a high school or equivalency diploma.
+Take a physical examination and a drug test at the committee's expense, after acceptance for the program.
+If a veteran, submit a copy of their DD 214.
Proof of education and veteran status must be submitted at the time of indenture.
