Haldane Art Students Visit Metropolitan Museum of Art
Mr. Dennis Cairl, and Ms. Jean Cendali took 22 History of Art and Advanced Art students to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The students saw many works of art at the Met that they have studied throughout the year.It was a great way for the students to see these works as they were meant to be seen. The classes gave the students an in depth background on many of the paintings shown at the Met.
Works they saw included the Ancient Greeks, Romans, Medieval Art and Architecture, Renaissance Painters, Baroque, Impressionists, Post-Impressionists, and Modern Art. There was a special exhibit on Spanish art that many of the students visited. The exhibit included works from artists such as Picasso, Goya, and Dali.
This trip was made possible by a very generous grant from the Haldane School Foundation. We want to thank them for making this experience possible for the students. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
