"The Empire Zone and You" - a Presentation
Putnam County Empire Zone Committee Cordially invites you to: "The Empire Zone and You", Opportunity is knocking, a program at the Southeast Museum, 67 Main Street, Brewster, on Thursday, May 24 at 5:30pm.
A New York State Empire Zone is a designated area where the State will give incentives to businesses that create jobs inside the Zone.
A few of the potential advantages of an Empire Zone include:
-Up to 100% State subsidy of a business' Real Estate Taxes for up to ten years
- Tax Credits up to $ 3,500.00 for 5 years for each new employee
- Waiver of Sales Tax on certain business purchases
- State Tax Credits for contributions to 501c3 Non-Profits
Certain Conditions and Restrictions apply. That is why you are urged to attend.
Putnam County's first Empire Zone will be in the Village of Brewster and be up and running before the summer ends. Regionally significant projects can also be approved in Phase 1. Putnam County will then assign the remaining 1,000+ acres for Empire Zone status throughout the Towns and Villages of Putnam County.
If you think that your business or community might benefit from the incentives mentioned above, you are urged attend this meeting to find out what your community's local government needs to do to obtain designation as an Empire Zone.
