Hospice Care in Putnam Offers Free Bereavement Support Groups

People often feel overwhelmed with grief following the loss of a loved one. Hospice Care in Westchester and Putnam, an affiliate of Visiting Nurse Association of Hudson Valley, is sponsoring free bereavement support groups at these community locations for those who have lost a loved one.

-Adult Bereavement support groups will be held at The Dempsey House of Hudson Valley

Hospital on June 14, July 12 and August 9 from 3pm - 4:30pm.

-Monthly groups are held at the Northern Westchester Hospital on the 1st Wednesday evening of

each month, the next meeting will be June 6, July 11 and August

-General Bereavement support group held on the 4th Monday evening of each month at Putnam

Hospital Center, the next meetings will be on June 25, July 23 and August 27.

-Monthly Widow/Widower Bereavement Support Group at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster on the 1st Friday of each month, the next meetings will be held on June 1, July 6 and August 3.

The Caring Circle Bereavement Program:

A bereavement support program for children ages 3-18 and their families. Age-specific peer groups utilize discussion and activities to provide a safe environment to foster healthy grieving and promote healing for both children and adults.

-Support groups offered for bereaved children and adults at the Yorktown Presbyterian Church are available on alternate Wednesdays.

-Upcoming meeting dates will be June 6, 20, July 4, 18 and August 1, 15 and 29.
