Up Up and Away for St. Philip's Preschoolers

Preschoolers at St. Philip's took to the air in many ways during their recent "Flight Week," planned to follow up on the children's unflagging fascination with paper airplanes and space ships. Thanks to cooperative parents, the students welcomed four expert visitors: Mark Maasik of American Aircraft Group/ Sikorsky Helicopters, purser Elke Rugen of American Airlines, Major William Skimmyhorn of the United States Military Academy, and Major Stephen Gauthier, also of West Point.

Shown in the photograph, Major Skimmyhorn uses his laptop and some props to explain the workings of of helicopters, including Blackhawks and Apaches. More photos and text are available on the St. Philip's blog, found at www.stphilipsns.org.
