Cleanup scheduled for June 16, 17; volunteers wanted

The New York State Department. of Environmental Conservation has secured the lands between three existing Multiple Use areas known as California Hill, Pudding Street, and Gordon Road in Putnam County and has designated the area as the California Hill State Forest.

A cleanup will take place on Saturday and Sunday, June 16 and 17, 2007 (raindates June 23 and 24). All outdoor enthusiasts are asked to volunteer their time to help the DEC, the Putnam County Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs and Keep Putnam Beautiful to remove unwanted and unsightly debris from this newest state forest in Putnam County.

ATV's with winches and carts are needed to remove bulk debris. For more details contact Strider at 845-284-2366.
