Christine Perpetua Runs Half Marathon with LLS "Team n Training"
On May 12, 2007, Christine Perpetua and her boyfriend Paulo Carminati ran The Big Lake Half Marathon in Alton Bay, New Hampshire. They had trained for three months with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Team n Training" in Boston where they both live. Neither Christine nor Paulo were runners before but they wanted to run in honor of her father, Damon, of Cold Spring, who has Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. They ran 13.1 miles most of which was uphill. It was a great accomplishment for the 1500 people who participated.
Their team of 60 runners raised over $180,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The mission of the society is to help find, a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkins disease and myeloma and improve the lives of patients and their families.
