PV's LoPuzzo Qualifies for NYS Shot Put Championship Competition
Putnam Valley junior Kerri LoPuzzo won the shot put in the Division II State Qualifier meet at Suffern High School last weekend and will represent Section 1 at the NYS Championship Meet this Friday at Dietz Stadium in Kingston. She went to States last year as a sophomore and finished 10th in the state and she is hoping for a medal this year. She did not throw her best throw in the qualifier, but the throw was good enough to win it (33'-8.5"). "It is nice to see someone who works so hard get rewarded for her efforts.," Coach Kelly Thompson said. "Kerri is such a leader for the track and field team. She is very highly respected by her peers for her dedication and devotion to the sport."
