Flying Swine Presents Inventing van Gogh Reading at Depot Theatre
Flying Swine presents the third in a series of Porcine Previews (pre-production readings of a plethora of plays). Inventing van Gogh, by Steven Dietz will be read this Saturday, June 16 at the Philipstown Depot Theatre in Garrison, at 7:30pm. The performance is free to the public. Donations gladly accepted.
How does a painter make a self-portrait? Vincent van Gogh made nearly forty of them. But how did he make them "glow"? Find out when a painter hired to forge the "newly discovered" final Van Gogh self-portrait comes face to face with the only person his obsessed mentor loved more than he- Vincent himself.
Actors Richard Bourg, Vivia Font, John Patrick Nord, Sterling Swann and Stewart Walker will read the play. Stage directions will be read by Gregory Gunder.
Flying Swine is a not-forprofit professional theatre company based in Beacon. Past performances include The Pitchmen at Beacon Artists Union, and Signs of Life, by Deborah Brevoort, featuring Marcia DeBonis and Dan DaSilva, in association with the The Barrow Group, winner of the Drama Desk Award for Off- Off Broadway Excellence. Porcine Previews provide a monthly peek into the Flying Swine production hangar as the pigs prepare for liftoff.
