Museum of the Hudson Highlands' Staff is Ready for Summer Camp

The Museum of the Hudson Highlands is fully staffed and ready to greet summer campers. The Museum's "Summer Nature Explorers" programs, for children from age 4 through ninth grade, are one-week sessions that take place June 25 until August 17, at Kenridge Farm. The beautiful setting, small group size, and experienced Museum of the Hudson Highlands staff create a winning combination. Space is limited - register early to avoid disappointment.

The Junior Explorers Program is for children aged four to six.. This is a week long half day program. Junior Explorers can choose the morning session (8:45am until 11:15am) or the afternoon session (12:15pm until 2:45pm). One day of the week campers will take an offsite trip to a local destination. Parents provide transportation.

The Explorers Program is for children entering grades 1st through 6th. Explorers enjoy weeklong, fun-packed programs discovering clues about wildlife and the environment. Explorers meet from 9am until 3pm. One day will be spent visiting the Hudson River at the Kowawese Unique Area in New Windsor. Another day of the week will be spent exploring another site in the Highlands or along the Hudson (transportation by West Point Tours busing).

The Senior Explorers Program is for young adults entering grades 7 through 9. This week long camp runs from August 13 through August 17. It is a week of total Wilderness fun learning the skills that it takes to survive in the wild. Methods of finding and collecting water, building temporary shelters and fire starting techniques will be explored as well as making a compass with a wristwatch or sewing needle. Each Senior Explorer will challenge themselves with a hike on Storm King Mountain's newest trails.. The Explorers will meet from 9am until 3pm. One day will be spent visiting the Hudson River at the Kowawese Unique Area in New Windsor.
