Charlie Rapacioli

Charlie Rapacioli, age 69, of Nelsonville, died on Monday, June 11, 2007 at his home.

Born in Piacenza, Italy on February 13, 1938, he was the son of the late Guido and Guiditta (Binelli) Rapacioli.

Mr. Rapacioli was the owner/ operator of Charlie's Deli in Nelsonville. In 1959 he immigrated to the United States and settled in the Bronx, where he met and married Irene Bertuzzi. He founded his first delicatessen in 1967 and continued to work in the deli business until 1996, when he relocated to Nelsonville and founded Charlie's Deli there with his children. He was a member of Our Lady of Loretto Church and the Loretto Council of the Knights of Columbus.

He was predeceased by his wife, Irene (Bertuzzi) Rapacioli, on January 28, 2002. He is survived by his three children, Dante Rapacioli of Garrison, Annamaria Anstette of Garrison, and Judy Colamarino of Cold Spring, four brothers, Frank Rapacioli of FL, Quito Rapacioli of Queens, NY, Renzo Rapacioli of Bronx, NY, and James Rapacioli of PA, two sisters, Sylvana Cavanna of Bronx, NY, and Rina Ferrari of Italy, and six grandchildren. His sister, Anna Boveri, predeceased him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Friday June 15, 2007 at Our Lady of Loretto Church 24 Fair St. Cold Spring, NY followed by interment in Cold Spring Cemetery. Friends may call at the Clinton Funeral Home, Cor. of Parrott and Pine Sts. (21 Parrott St) Cold Spring, NY on Wednesday, June 13th from 7-9 pm and Thursday, June 14th 2-4 and 7- 9 pm.
