Douglas A. "Cookie" Schetter
Douglas A. "Cookie" Schetter, age 64 of Cold Spring, died suddenly on Monday, June 11, 2007 at his home.
Born in Beacon, NY on September 22, 1942, he was the son of the late Douglas A. and Grace L. (Greene) Schetter. He and his parents moved to Cold Spring in the 1960's and Doug resided there for the remainder of his life
He was a clerk for many years at Grand Union in Cold Spring. In Cold Spring, Doug was always surrounded by faithful friends and neighbors, too numerous to list, who helped him in every way, especially after the deaths of his parents. Doug was a proud member of the Cold Spring Boat Club and Nelsonville Fish and Fur Club and participated in many activities.
He is survived by his aunts and uncles, Harry and Barbara Ann Garo of Beacon, NY, Gordon and Mary Ann Schetter of Glenham, NY, Noel and Patricia Schetter of Glenham, NY, and many cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10am on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Clinton Funeral Home, Cor. of Parrott and Pine Sts. (21 Parrott St.) Cold Spring, followed by interment in Cold Spring Cemetery. Friends may call at the Clinton Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 13 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doug Schetter's name to the Cold Spring Boat Club, West Street, Cold Spring, 10516.
