Fourth of July Service Planned at Mekeel's Corners Chapel

The Mekeel's Corners Chapel Association is pleased to announce its annual Independence Day service at 10am on Wednesday July 4 at the Chapel. What better way to celebrate the birthday of our nation? The service is given each year in Thanksgiving for this great country. Various organizations and local community members will be taking part in this service. Mr. Stephen Anderson will again be playing the antique organ. Members of the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War under the direction of Mr. Matthew Hereford will also be taking part.

The Chapel was built in 1867 and was a Methodist Chapel until 1949. The chapel was restored in 1961 and the Chapel Association was formed to continue to maintain the Chapel. Anyone wishing to donate to the Chapel's upkeep may send a tax exempt donation to the Mekeel's Corners Chapel Association Inc., 321 Rt. 301 Cold Spring, N.Y. 10516.

For information you may call 265-3902 or email at ecleary@ verizon.net. Come help celebrate this day.
